Rooted in family values and a passion for serving others, the team behind Ace Handyman Services Upstate South Carolina is truly a family affair. In 2016, Karin and her husband Michael moved to Taylors, SC to be closer to family. In 2022, siblings Karin and Tim officially opened Ace Handyman Services together, combining their shared vision of providing dependable, high-quality service with a heart for people. Their strong work ethic and caring spirit were shaped by their mom, who may not work in the business but played a major role in forming Tim and Karin into the people they are today. Karin solicited the services of their daughter to join the business, moving her from California to South Carolina to bring her high-energy, people-first approach and many years of experience in management, coaching, goal setting, and customer support—ensuring every client feels valued and cared for. Michael officially joined the business in 2024 as the newest owner and serves as the Service Manager, using his wide range of handyman skills and keen attention to detail to oversee jobs, support craftsmen, and stepping in whenever needed to ensure each customer is happy. Even from afar, the family’s oldest daughter proudly supports the business from Austin, Texas while pursuing her dream career as an athletic trainer at UT. And of course, no family photo would be complete without Chevy, their lovable team mascot and cheerful “snoopervisor,” and Charlie, their part-time mascot when in town vising—both spreading smiles and joy to everyone they meet.

My background is in sales for various industries such as electrical, lighting, and home services. I love connecting with people and partnering with them to solve problems. Outside of work, I work for fun and have helped built various businesses with my husband in retail, gaming, photography, and software design. On the rare occasion I have free time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, health and wellness, learning new things, traveling, and socializing. I’ve tried to live the idiom of, find a job you love and you’ll never work again. In some ways, I have. My introduction to the trades began in my early twenties working under a master craftsmen in multimillion dollar homes in Summit County CO. In 2005 my tile crew was recognized in the Parade of Homes, winning best master bathroom. The intricacies and precision instilled in me through my humble beginnings, on not so humble homes, followed me indefinitely. During the housing crash of 2008 I was offered a position working under a master plumber branching out on his own. Plumbing made sense. Not as artistic as tile and stone, but problem solving that challenged and intrigued me. I was like a duck in water, (no pun intended) deducing and remedying plumbing issues like solving a rubix cube. The years have transcended, as have I, being exposed to a cornucopia of building. The tougher the challenge, the greater the personal reward in solving it. Many houses may appear similar, and issues will arise in all, but the unique qualities each has presents an opportunity to make someone’s life just a bit better. It is in that where I find satisfaction with the fruits of my labor.

In my spare time, I like to be outdoors hunting/fishing, kayaking, and just enjoying nature. I am a major adrenaline junky who just loves the rush of sky diving, repelling or any other crazy stunts!
