At Ace Handyman Services, we are fortunate to be surrounded by some amazing women. Women who are not afraid to take chances, break barriers, and step in to help you maintain your home. We set out on the road with a video crew to hear them tell their truth: What led them to create a career in a predominately male trade? What about the industry piqued their interest in the first place? What have their experiences in our customers’ homes been like? And, do they honestly enjoy the work that they do?

Who Are Our Female Craftsmen?
Pinky started out as a Craftsman who excelled at assembling furniture for our customers. The Ace Handyman Owner was amazed by the speed at which she finished each job. Pinky scratched her head and said, “I don’t know why it’s such a big deal – it’s really easy.” However, Dallas Metro’s Stacy knew that was not the case. As Pinky says, “Stacy moved me into more jobs and within just a few weeks, my skillset went through the roof!”
She quickly gained the confidence to go out on her own and complete so much more than furniture assembly. “Every job I learned something new that I could take with me to the next job,” she says, demonstrating why we train our Craftsmen across a wide range of home improvement projects. If you have a Craftsman like Pinky on the job in your house, your to-do list will be quickly conquered.On the other end of the spectrum, Michelle came to Ace Handyman Services with more than 30 years of construction experience. She excels in her trade and is quickly making a name for herself when it comes to her reliability, kindness, and superior craftsmanship. Pulling from her experience, she approaches almost any challenge looking forward to the thrill of solving problems. She tells other women that “this is absolutely doable” for anyone looking to enter the Craftsman trade. In her role as a Lead Craftsman, there is rarely a problem she can’t fix, and she takes great pride in coaching others to strengthen their skillsets. When looking for an example of an outstanding and skillful leader, look no further than Michelle.Lily spent her first year on the Ace Handyman Services Team as an Apprentice, which helped to diversify her experience right away. She learned from experienced Craftsmen on her team, giving her the confidence to complete a variety of jobs and developing her leadership skills so she can pass along her knowledge to new team members. She had four years of construction experience and a passion for woodworking when she came to Ace Handyman Services and is continuously expanding her skillset throughout the variety of jobs she encounters. Lily believes “that anyone is capable” to enter the trades if they have a desire to do meaningful work that makes you “the right kind of tired” at the end of every day. She values the level of support and training she has received since joining the team.
